What is the "Dia de los  Muertos "?

The Day of the Dead is a celebration of memory and a ritual that favors remembrance over forgetting. The Day of the Dead (in Spanish: Día de Muertos), is a particular form of feast of the dead typical of current Mexican culture, which is also observed in the southwest of the United States. It differs from other feasts of the dead, especially Christian, by the festive character of certain traditions and by the creation of private altars dedicated to the dead, covered with offerings such as familiar objects, flowers and food. The Day of the Dead is a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. (Source Wikipedia)
